The Adult Bible Study meeting on Thursday evenings at 5:30 focuses on personal transformation through worship and preaching. The sermon and worship time we spend on Sunday mornings is much more vital and meaningful when time is spent in advance really studying the scriptures together as a community. Every Thursday evening several from the congregation gather together in the Friendship Room to review, study, and pray over the scripture that Dave will preach on Sunday. He remarks that in his final sermon preparation time, the contributions and insights gathered in Bible Study make the difference between a good sermon and a a bad one. "It truly means that the time we share in worship proclaiming the Good News of God is really an act of the community because the community, gathered in prayer and empowered by the Holy Spirit bring the message," he says.
