Lent Bible Study "I AM"
February 14, 2013
In
John’s Gospel,
Jesus Christ said no less than seven times the sacred words,
“I AM.” With a theological association with the name of God first reveled to
Moses at the burning bush, the claim of “I AM” was
both powerful and scandalous.
Jesus
was doing far more than revealing his identity.
Jesus
was disclosing his divinity!
For the season of Lent, our Thursday Evening Bible Studies
will focus on the seven “I AM” statements of
Jesus Christ.
Beginning on Thursday,
February 14, 2013 the study will focus on
Jesus’ statement, “I AM the Bread of Life.”
5:30 PM, in the Friendship room of
the church.
Thursday, February 21, “I AM the Light of the World”
Thursday, February 28, “I AM the Good Shepherd & the
Gate”
Thursday, March 7, “I AM the Resurrection and the Life”
Thursday, March 14, “I AM the Way, Truth and Life”
Thursday, March 21, “I AM the True Vine”
Thursday, March 28 Will be our special Maundy Thursday
celebration. This year the First Christian Church is combining with
Grace Episcopal and St. Peter Lutheran, and First Presbyterian
for a special combined Maundy Thursday service of worship, music, and
Communion.
