Shared Lenten Ministry with he First Presbyterian Church and the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Carlsbad

Last month the grand announcement was made that for the season of Lent, the First Christian Church and the First Presbyterian Church in Carlsbad will be combining ministries to better serve Jesus Christ In the city of Carlsbad.
Plans are moving forward with great excitement and fulfilling prayer for this exciting and wonderful experiment of faith! The Shared Lenten Ministry Planning Team has started meeting and we already have some preliminary plans down for this time of fulfilling ministry.
On Sunday mornings for the seven weeks of Lent and Easter Sunday we will all meet at the First Presbyterian building for worship, Communion, fellowship, Missional empowerment and Christian growth in wisdom and faith.
9:00 AM Sunday School
10:00 AM Fellowship Time with Coffee and Snacks
10:30 AM Worship with Weekly Communion
Wednesdays will also be exciting times for increased faith and Missional Empowerment with an exciting and spiritually sound shared Lenten Learning and Growth time of study and fellowship.
5:30 PM Light Dinner and Fellowship Time
6:00 PM Lenten Study
7:00 PM Joint Choir Rehearsal
In addition to our times as one body in Christ, our Missional Focus will be in cooperation with Carlsbad Transitional Housing and the Carlsbad Battered Family Shelter; providing volunteers, outreach, and Christian witness to these vital mission fields in the community we all call home.
Anticipating this exciting time together, our Board has voted unanimously to invite the whole congregation to share in this important mission endeavor by voting your support during a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 29, 2015. This is everyone’s opportunity to share in the sheer joy and join in the wonderful challenge of following the Holy Spirit into a bold and beautiful future.
